Synthetic Indices Prop Firms: Audit the Series Definition First
A synthetic-index label does not define the underlying process. It can describe a constructed series with its own methodology. Before discussing a prop programme, identify the exact product and whether that programme actually supports it.

Save the series specification
Record the publisher, symbol, calculation or generation method, observation frequency and unit. The name alone does not establish an exchange-traded index, a tradable contract or the relationship between a point move and account profit. Obtain the actual product specification for those questions.
HashHedge’s reviewed overview does not establish a synthetic-indices evaluation. A crypto or TradFi label should not be expanded into that claim. The optional affiliate invitation concerns its stated products, without promising the instrument in this search.
Separate rebasing from a contract result
Suppose a fictional constructed series starts at 200 and later reads 210. Its change is 5%. Rebased to 100 at the first observation, the second reading is 105. A different series moving from 80 to 84 has the same percentage change, while retaining a different original unit.
Neither comparison supplies a contract multiplier, quantity, financing cost or executable price. If a separate fictional contract has multiplier 2 and quantity 3, a 10-point move would produce 60 units before costs under that simple linear model. That additional assumption must be stated.
| Exercise | Inputs | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Series A change | 200 → 210 | 5% |
| Series A rebased | 100 × 210/200 | 105 |
| Series B change | 80 → 84 | 5% with different original units |
| Separate linear contract | 10 points × 2 × 3 | 60 before costs |
Test the comparison at the correct level
Use a series comparison for the series question, a contract ledger for the position question and the current provider catalogue for availability. This site’s existing market-measurement resource should be read within its own unit and observation window.
Do not infer tradability or likely evaluation performance from an attractive synthetic chart. The worked numbers are independent teaching inputs. There is no platform connection, generated market feed or promise that a particular process will qualify for an account.
